The Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine & Public Health is seeking a full time Nuclear Medicine Faculty member, interested in pursuing an academic career in Molecular Imaging at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor on the Tenure Track.
The successful candidate will bring with him/her a strong, funded research program in Molecular Imaging, or will have credentials and interest in developing such a program at UW-Madison. Translational molecular imaging is strongly encouraged. In addition, the candidate will be expected to develop fruitful research collaborations across disciplines at UW-Madison.
This position will include staffing general nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, bone mineral density and positron emission tomography (PET) exams, participating in all division conferences including journal clubs and good case conferences, teaching residents, fellows and medical students, participating in appropriate administrative functions, and actively participating in and leading new research investigations. Teaching responsibilities include medical student, resident, fellow and other department trainees as appropriate. In carrying out duties, the candidate will be responsible to the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine and the Chair of Radiology. An essential part of these duties is working in a collegial relationship with other faculty and staff members.

About the Department of Radiology:
The Department of Radiology has a stable force of 101 faculty in ten subspecialty divisions and many of our faculty are world-renowned for their contributions to research and education in radiology. The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics (UWHC) has invested strategically in our facilities and equipment over the past 10 years, and this commitment is evident throughout the state-of-the-art 80,000 sq. ft. clinical care area that we enjoy at UWHC. The Nuclear Medicine Section has 3.5 FTE nuclear medicine physicians, and staffs 4 SPECT/CT systems and 1 additional gamma camera, 3 PET/CT scanners and 1 PET/MR system. The section also manages a state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical production facility for the development of novel molecular imaging and therapeutic agents. Our research faculty collaborate closely with scientists in the Department of Medical Physics in a 60,000 sq. ft. imaging sciences research center, part of the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR). The imaging research center provides an unprecedented resource that translates innovation from bench to bedside and spans a scope from mouse to man. The center includes advanced MRI, CT, PET, cyclotron, radiochemistry, digital angiography, ultrasound, and magnetoencephalography systems for small animal, large animal and human research applications. Our industrial partners have provided state-of-the-art imaging equipment and access to research platforms for our scientists to create new imaging methods and applications. The imaging research center provides state-of-the-art laboratory, office, teaching, and interactive space for more than 250 Radiology and Medical Physics researchers.
