Operate MR and radiographic machines and processors, analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality radiographs and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself.Ability to acquire IV access and administer contrast material with power injector preferred.Completed department orientation and/or competency skills rosters as required.
Assists the radiologist during (injection, biopsy, drainage) procedures and if necessary (contrast reactions or code blues) by preparing the room, tray, and supplies and by anticipating the needs of the physicians and patients.
Performs all appropriate procedures in the computer as needed (i.e. scheduling exams, completing exams by computer terminal, and proper charging of supplies, etc.).
Completes all proper forms (i.e. pregnancy and contrast form) and scans forms into PACS system.
Documents any work related incident (i.e. patient fall, IV extravasation, work-related injury, etc.) through the designated program in a timely manner
Report immediately to Imaging Lead/Supervisor/Director or designee any equipment problems (i.e. x-ray, processors, computer, etc.).
Performs necessary Quality Control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed.
Performs other related duties as requested by the Imaging Director/Manager/Lead including, but not limited to: stocking rooms, maintaining clean work area, transporting patients, training new employees, etc.
