| Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Department Chair of Urology within the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute (GUKI). The Department of Urology at Cleveland Clinic is currently ranked #1 by US News and World Report. The Department has strong local, regional, national and international recognition for excellence in clinical care, clinical and translational research, and education. The urology residency has ranked #1 in the Doximity Residency poll for three straight years, since the inception of the poll in 2014. The department includes the following 11 centers: Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, Genitourinary Reconstruction, Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation, Endourology & Stone Disease, Male Fertility, Men’s Health, Minority Men’s Health, Pediatric Urology, Reproductive Medicine, Robotic & Image Guided Surgery and Urologic Oncology. There are a total of 76 clinical providers who see patients at 26 locations in Northeast Ohio, including both the Cleveland and Akron markets. We are searching for a physician leader to carry the Department of Urology into the future. The ideal candidate should be a leading clinician, educator, and scholar, who supports research and education within the subspecialty and who can work collaboratively within an integrated, multi-specialty organization. Strong leadership competencies are key success elements for the role. Working with the GUKI Institute Chair (currently Eric A. Klein, MD), the Department Chair will have ultimate responsibility for the clinical, educational, research, and fiscal oversight of the department in order to achieve personal and institutional success. The successful candidate will be eligible for both faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and an endowed chair.
