The Department of Radiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine is seeking to fill a full-time faculty position in the Division of Nuclear Medicine. The position involves clinical, teaching and research activities, including training of nuclear medicine and radiology residents.
Professional responsibilities involve the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics and outlying outpatient satellite facilities, as well as hospital based practice at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital.
Resources and imaging equipment include PET/CT, SPECT/CT, conventional nuclear medicine imaging, and radiopharmaceutical therapy. The Division is seeking an individual with adequate nuclear medicine background and working experience in all facets of nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging, including state of the art oncology, cardiology and neurology protocols. Experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy is desired as the Division is active in conventional and new therapies for thyroid cancer, lymphoma, neuroendocrine tumors, prostate, and other.

The Division of Nuclear Medicine currently has four full time faculty members and one part time faculty member. All attendings are dual board certified and have expertise and special interest in various sections of nuclear medicine.
Our mission is to provide medical care of a very high caliber, and conduct high quality research involving imaging studies such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT, non-imaging in-vivo studies, and various therapeutic studies, including radioantibodies with unsealed radiopharmaceuticals.

Along with patient care, the resident receives training in the fundamentals of radiologic medical technology, nuclear physics, radiation biology, radiation protection, and computer applications. Residents also receive basic science training in physics, instrumentation and computer science, radiopharmaceuticals and protocols involved by attending the five week Basic Science Teaching Course in Nuclear Medicine.
