Job Summary This position provides clinical coordination and support for PACS, RIS, DMS and related electronic imaging equipment for Radiology and Cardiology. They support Imaging clinical applications throughout the organization, insuring integrity of the imaging medical record. This position trains and supervises PACS/Imaging assistants and or Electronic Imaging Clerks to assist in PACS/RIS database clean up and standard Imaging systems operating procedures for the Network.
Coordinates the daily and periodic clinical maintenance of the PACS database. Identifies, corrects and delegates resolution of PACS, DMS and RIS database issues to insure integrity of the PACS/Imaging Informatics medical record.
Identifies and initiates workflow, equipment use and electronic imaging procedures to optimize PACS productivity. Update and maintain PACS workflow protocols documentation. Assist physicians and staff in establishing or optimizing electronic imaging display protocols.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of all PACS workstation, web and associated applications. Provide PACS training to all levels of users for all PACS related software applications. Schedules and communicates PACS training and assists in organization introduction of new applications to medical and ancillary staff.
Provide operational supervision and support for research and completion of PACS initiatives; assist with testing new applications and the planning/recovery for PACS system downtimes. Initiate or maintain quality assurance documentation. Maintain database logs.
