The Senior Product Manager is the core marketing owner and driver of success for their designated products within the Professional Services Business Unit. The Senior Product Manager supports the development and management of a successful, sustainable laboratory middleware franchise, ensuring it delivers real value for customers and achieves business targets. They act as a subject matter expert on our products/solutions, and manage the product area day to day, in line with the commercial plan and in collaboration with global area teams. The Senior Product Manager will provide on-going support of new product development including customer requirements definition, product concept validation, financial analysis, and securing Business Unit commitment through market launch.
The Senior Product Manager proactively identifies new opportunities to grow and differentiate the franchise and collaborates across the organization to effectively develop and launch new products and solutions on time and on budget.
This is a general management role that will be responsible for marketing strategy development and oversight while contributing to and influencing all facets of Sales and Marketing including: Forecasting, Financial and Marketing Plan development, Sales Materials and Training, Pricing, Materials Management, Business Development, and New Product Development and Introduction.
Proactively manages all aspects of the product line, evolving to stay ahead of the market and keep relevant to all target and local insights
Develop and update annual marketing plans/strategies including market analysis, forecasting, customer segmentation and targeting, product positioning, competitive assessments and SWOT or other situation assessments.
Maintain global market expertise for laboratory middleware solutions, including in-depth knowledge of competitor products and strategies, market trends and dynamics, market/franchise critical success factors, and customer needs.
Acts as subject matter expert for laboratory middleware solutions, identifying and resolving potential issues and providing detailed product support to global marketing and commercial teams
Responsible for developing and maintaining impactful internal and external marketing materials and demand creation activities in partnership with area teams
Support area teams to deliver franchise goals, including marketing activities, training, and commercial opportunities.
Confidently builds business cases for new ideas and sells ideas internally, working closely with areas, business units, service/support and R&D teams to prioritize and execute product enhancements and improvements.
Drives the development of launch plans, ensuring they are relevant, realist and robust, and works closely with area teams to execute
Engages and influences cross-functional stakeholders such as R&D, regulatory, etc. to set and meet launch timings, budgets and approaches.
Closely tracks and takes responsibility for the impact of launches and adapts where required, identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
Support development of services development strategies and delivery plans
Support commercial training team in developing and executing sales training programs.
The Senior Product Manager will report to the Global Marketing Manager and will have primary marketing and budget responsibility for designated products in laboratory informatics and middleware. The Senior Product Manager will be expected to be responsive and able to directly address questions and requests of senior management.
In this core Marketing role, the Senior Product Manager will drive and be held accountable to deliver Sales, Margin, and Performance Excellence goals for designated products. Success will be measured against sales and margin expectations, sales force competency/knowledge level and market image.
EDUCATION: B.S. MedTech or Life Sciences undergrad. MBA or relevant Masters’ required.
5+ years of relevant work experience with 2+ years of marketing is mandatory. IVD experience, in Clinical Chemistry or laboratory highly preferred. Knowledge and experience in laboratory testing and/or data management (middleware) and related workflows, interconnectivity/system networks, and quality/Lean Six Sigma is highly desirable. Knowledge and experience working with the Agile development methodology is preferred.

Desired Industries: Diagnostics, Hospital Laboratories, MNC Healthcare company (e.g. pharma, med device), Major Hospital or Payor Network.
Candidate must have demonstrated career trajectory, industry agility, global aptitude and have examples of project management ownership & discipline. Has demonstrated leadership ability to influence without authority & collaborate with other functions, such as R&D and Sales.
Ability to travel internationally is required.
