Bring your specialized skills and ingenuity to an advanced modality of Radiology at Westlake Hospital.
What you will do:
Operate Cat Scan equipment and make clinically diagnostic films.
Perform equipment warm-up, calibration and safety check, and report any malfunctions.
Assist in the planning and organization of daily work and patient scheduling.
Identify, interview and screen patients for proper diet preparation and possible medication interference with other procedures.
Ensure accuracy of exams by checking order sheets or charts for exam orders.
Administer gastrointestinal contrast material and intravenous contrast media.
Assist patients to work area, and explain procedure to patient and family.
Arrange and adjust immobilization and support devices.
Perform clinically excellent exam.
Maintain accurate and prompt department records.
Communicate reactions to radiologist, physician, lead technologist, peers or nursing unit.
Assist in performance of interventional procedures in Cat Scan.
Identify and hand instruments to radiologist/practitioner during treatment/exam.
Provide self-care instruction to patients and family.
Pursue Level II technician training (eligible after working 12 consecutive months in the staff tech position).
What we expect:
Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
Current licensure by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Orientation to all equipment and areas.
Ability to apply medical knowledge/procedures and act on technical information from lead technologists, charts, reference books, procedure manuals (etc.).
Solid judgment, communication skills and initiative.
