Ultrasound Technologist - Imaging - Carondelet Medical Group
The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures applying Ultrasound for the purpose of detecting pathology. Performs diagnostic procedures utilizing transducer frequencies dependent upon the patient or procedure. Effectively manages and monitors safe equipment use during imaging. Develops and organizes diagnostic quality images prior to giving them to the radiologist for interpretation. Requires the ability to work with all groups of patient and physical conditions, to include neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, obï¿½s and geriatrics. Responsible for delivering high quality service, and to interact appropriately with patients and their representatives, Physicians, and co-workers. Will safely manage the environment of care while providing patient care and services. Willing to be part of call team.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for day to day operation of ultrasound equipment, including patient imaging, making sure equipment is performing optimally, and quality control according to ACR guidelines.
Interacts closely with radiologists and other medical personnel to ensure studies are performed adequately and in a timely manner that adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate licensing and certifications.
Responsible for understanding patient workflow criteria involving PACS and RIS systems.
Responsible for punctual attendance.
Requires knowledge of Federal, State and required regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations. Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage clinical care delivery. The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required; as is the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written work. Must be flexible with work scheduling. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.
Must have required certifications for Ultrasound Tech: RVT
Experience in Vascular Ultrasound Preferred
