The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is seeking a nuclear medicine trained physician to join the new Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics Section being established within the department. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical X, in-Residence, or HS Clinical series depending on qualifications and interests.
Faculty are expected to develop a clinical or more basic research program in the area of one's specialty focus. Responsibilities include clinical service, teaching and research. Clinical services in the section include all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in nuclear medicine, including nuclear cardiology, PET/CT, PET/MRI and molecular targeted systemic therapy. The selected candidate will supervise and teach residents, fellows, medical students, and post-doctoral trainees in nuclear medicine. Obligations will include clinical work primarily at UCSF Moffitt/Long Hospital, Mission Bay Hospital, and China Basin Landing, but may include clinical work at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, the VA Medical Center, and/or UCSF Mt. Zion Hospital, all of which are affiliated teaching, clinical and research facilities of UCSF.
The position requires an MD degree (or equivalent), ability to practice medicine in California, and completion of specialty training in Nuclear Medicine leading to certification by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (or eligible). The requirements are to be met by the time of the faculty appointment start date.
