UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING, COLLEGE OF ART AND SCIENCES Tenure-track Assistant Professor (9 month) in Sensory Biology The Department of Zoology and Physiology in the College of Art and Sciences at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Sensory Biology at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek an outstanding scientist who conducts mechanistic studies to address basic or translational questions in broadly defined sensory biology fields. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program that integrates molecular, cellular and system level approaches to understanding sensory systems. Research interests could range from cellular and molecular studies of sensory receptors to systems level sensory processing and studies aimed at understanding brain higher-order decision makings based on sensory cues. This position offers outstanding research resources associated with the federally funded Wyoming Sensory Biology Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in addition to a competitive salary and startup package. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program that complements the expertise of our current faculty. The successful candidate is expected to utilize and strengthen the many core facilities at the University of Wyoming, including the newly funded Integrated Microscopy Core Facility, Animal Vivarium, Red Buttes Environmental Laboratory, and the Center for Advanced Scientific Imaging. The candidate is expected to teach in the core courses of the Physiology Undergraduate Degree and also offer an undergraduate/graduate elective course that will help diversify the current Physiology offerings.
