JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist (SP) HSH LOCATION: Holy Spirit Hospital DEPARTMENT: Radiology WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible in performing Interventional, Neuro and Endovascular procedures to include technical, procedural and equipment performance, patient care and education, interfacing with other clinical departments, issue resolution, digital imaging quality and efficiency. Responsible for maintaining department relationships with Radiology Services partners, patients and referring physicians.
Responsible for imaging procedure quality in thoracic, visceral, gastrointestinal, neurologic and peripheral intervention for vascular and nonvascular systems.
Performs imaging procedures in area of expertise. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned clinical area. Responsible for participating in regulatory requirements of assigned sections.
Works under the direct supervision of the Neuro Interventionalist, Vascular Surgeon, and Interventional Radiologist.
Directly accountable to the Interventional Radiology Team Leader.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Requires good organizational skills and effective communication skills.
Requires technical expertise in Neuro, Vascular and Invasive anatomy.
Requires the ability to work in close cooperation with members of a team of physicians, nurses and other technical staff in an invasive and / or surgical environment.
Demonstrates computer skills including RIS / PACS, Windows, Internet, Infoweb, GroupWise emails, passwords and security.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact, and ability to perform both independently and as a team member.
Demonstrates initiative and the ability to assume multi-task duties and function under significant time pressures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an approved ARRT training program required. BS ARRT preferred.
ARRT registered or registry eligible required. Registered BS ARRT preferred
Two years’ experience as a registered Radiology Technologist preferred
Prior Interventional Radiology experience in a Trauma facility preferred
Requires six months on-the-job training.
